Infant Care

General Information-

Our Infant Program serves children ages 6 weeks to 18 months.

At Lord of Life we believe that quality infant care has a significant role in developing the foundations of language and learning.  Our caregivers interact with the babies, modify routines to meet individual needs, and assist each infant in developing physically and intellectually.

We have two infant programs, each designed to meet the differing stages of development.  Our non-mobile infant program provides a warm, nurturing atmosphere in which babies are held, responded to and provided with opportunities to practice emerging skills.  Our mobile infant program provides plenty of room to move about and play in a safe environment.  Language skills are encouraged through songs, stories, games and conversation.

Our Infant Program focuses on building loving, responsive relationships between the baby, the caregiver, and the family.  Teachers and assistants understand infant development and provide the nurturing care babies need.

Infant Nutrition-

We understand that feeding a growing baby can be quite expensive.  To help your family, we offer formula and infant foods at no additional charge.

All infants are served  Gerber and Beechnut jar foods and infant cereals, and Similac Advance formula.  You may provide an alternative formula or breast milk, if desired.

Daily snacks include a variety of whole wheat or enriched breads or crackers, such as cheerios, graham crackers, Ritz crackers, etc.

Because of our on-site Nutrition Department, we are able to accommodate most food allergies.

Activities-

Infants are encouraged to experience the world in many different ways, utilizing their emerging skills.  Teachers use colorful board books; classical music and traditional children's music; sand and water play; art projects with shaving cream, non-toxic paint, or feathers; and daily walks outside (weather permitting).  A fenced, shaded area provides the perfect outdoor play place for summer days.
